In TallyPrime, creating a Job Work Out Order (JWOO) for a stock item without a Bill of Materials (BOM) is a straightforward process.

Here’s a detailed explanation with an example:

Scenario:

You want to send raw materials to a job worker for processing into finished goods.

However, you don’t have a pre-defined BOM for the finished product, meaning you’re not specifying the exact components needed.

1. Steps to Create a Job Work Out Order (Without BOM):

1. Go to Voucher Entry:

There are two ways to access the JWOO voucher:

  • Gateway of Tally > Vouchers > Press F10 (Other Vouchers) and type or select “Job Work Out Order” and press Enter.
  • Alternatively, press Alt+G (Go To) > Create Voucher > Press F10 (Other Vouchers) and select “Job Work Out Order”.

2. Enter Voucher Details:

  • Party’s A/c Name: Select the Job Worker (Supplier) account from the list.
  • Order No. (Optional): Enter a unique JWOO number.
  • Name of Item: Select the finished product (Stock Item) for which you’re placing the order.
  • Track Components (Optional): Since you don’t have a BOM, choose “No” here. This option is used to track specific raw materials issued.
  • Due On: Enter the expected date for receiving the finished goods from the job worker.
  • Godown: Select the godown (warehouse) from where the raw materials will be issued (if applicable). This might be left blank if the job worker provides their own materials.
  • Quantity: Enter the quantity of finished goods you expect to receive.
  • Rate (Optional): If you have an estimated cost per unit of the finished product, enter it here. The amount will be calculated automatically.
  • Amount: This will be calculated based on the quantity and rate (if entered).
  • Cost Tracking To (Optional): You can assign a cost tracking number for the job work if needed.
  • Narration (Optional): Add any additional information about the job work.

    3. Example: Job Work Out Order for a Stock Item Without BOM in TallyPrime

Let’s say you need to send 100 meters of raw cloth to a tailor (Job Worker) to be stitched into shirts.

You expect to receive 50 shirts.

    • Party’s A/c Name: [Select Tailor’s Account Name]
    • Name of Item: Shirts
    • Track Components: No (as you’re not specifying exact raw materials)
    • Due On: (Enter expected delivery date)
    • Godown: [Select Godown where cloth is stored] (if applicable)
    • Quantity: 50
    • Rate: 200 (per shirt, optional)
    • Amount: 10,000 (calculated automatically)
    • Narration: Job work for stitching 100 meters of cloth into shirts.

    4. Save the Voucher:

Press Ctrl+A to save the JWOO.

      2. Additional Points:

      • Even though you’re not using a BOM, you can create a separate “Material In” voucher after saving the JWOO to record the actual raw materials issued to the job worker (if applicable).
      • TallyPrime allows you to track the job work process and generate reports to monitor the status and overall costs associated with it.

      3. Key takeaway:

A Job Work Out Order without a BOM is suitable when you don’t have a pre-defined breakdown of raw materials needed for the finished product.

The job worker might use their own materials or have some flexibility in the process.

Remember to track the actual materials used and finished goods received later for accurate cost calculations.
