How to Set GST Details in TallyPrime: 5 Easy Steps

Here are the steps on how to set GST details in TallyPrime:

1. Enable GST for the Company:

  • Open the company in TallyPrime.
  • Press F11 (Features).
  • Go to F1: Accounting Features.
  • Set Enable Goods and Services Tax (GST) to Yes.

2. Set Company GST Details:

  • From the Features menu, enable Set/Alter Company GST Rate and Other Details.
  • Press F12 (Configure) to access additional options:
    • HSN/SAC Details: Choose how to specify HSN/SAC codes (directly, linked to stock items, or both).
    • GST Rate Details: Set default tax rates and enable reverse charge calculation if applicable.
    • e-Way Bill Details: Provide e-Way Bill related information.
  • Fill in the required GST registration details, including state, registration type, GSTIN, etc.

3. Set GST Rates for Stock Items:

  • Go to Gateway of Tally > Display More Reports > Statutory Reports > GST Reports > GST Rate Setup.
  • Select the relevant stock groups or items.
  • Press Alt+S (Set Rate) to assign applicable GST rates.

4. Set GST Details for Ledgers:

  • Go to Gateway of Tally > Create/Alter > Ledger.
  • Select the desired ledger.
  • Specify the party’s registration type and GSTIN/UIN.
  • Press Ctrl+I (More Details) and fill in additional GST registration details, including whether they belong to an Exclusive Economic Zone.

5. Additional Steps for Specific GST Registration Types:

Composition Dealers:

  • Activate GST for composition dealers (single or multi-registration) under Features > F1.

Regular – SEZ:

  • Set Place of Supply, Reconciliation, LUT/Bond, and other relevant options under Features > F12.
