1. Understanding Rejections Against Receipt Notes in TallyPrime

A rejection occurs when a portion or all of a received shipment is returned to the supplier due to quality issues, incorrect items, or other reasons.

In TallyPrime, you can record rejections against receipt notes to track the returned items and adjust the accounts accordingly.

2. Steps to Record Rejections Against Receipt Notes in TallyPrime:

1. Create a Material Out Voucher:

Go to Gateway of Tally > Vouchers > Press F10 (Material Out).

2. Enter Party Details:

Enter the supplier’s account name.

3. Select Bill-wise Details:

  • Choose the “Select Bill” button.
  • Select the “Receipt Note” bill type.
  • Choose the specific receipt note for which you want to record a rejection.

4. Enter Return Details:

Specify the quantity of items being returned and the reason for rejection.

5. Save the Material Out Voucher:

Press Ctrl+A to save the material out voucher.

    Let’s say you received 10 units of a product from a supplier but 2 units were found to be defective.

    1. Create a Material Out Voucher:

    • Go to Gateway of Tally > Vouchers > Press F10 (Material Out).

    • Select the receipt note for the 10 units.
    • Enter “2” as the quantity being returned and specify the reason for the return (e.g., “defective items”).

    2. Save the Material Out Voucher:

    Press Ctrl+A to save the material out voucher.
